Masculine Vintage Card

onsdag 30 maj 2012

Hi there! I hope your week has been good so far.
I received a request to make a card for a man who are about to celebrate his 65 th birthday.
I made a vintage inspired card with a bit of humor...

...the text (written by hand) says: How does the world look in 100 years? Well, we will celebrate your 29 th birthday, as usual.

I started by printing out the handsome gentleman from The Vintage Moth and layered him over papers from Prima Marketing the Printery Collection, and a sheet from an old book. All layers were well inked.

I choose a nice linen ribbon to the bow, then I added twine and a button on top. Behind you can see a doily.
I found a car in my stash and then it got to be a part.

I finished of this card with a piece of braided natural cord, I set it fixed with staples.

Now I hope that the "birthday child" like this card and get a nice day.
Thanks so much for visiting!
Hugs, Birgit

Hi folks, hope your weekend has been great!
I´m back with a card I worked on late last night:)

I started with this great image from Pink Cat Studio and colored it with Copics.
Then I added Glossy Accents, Glitter, Stardust Stickles, a pink pearl and a little feather on the hat.
I choose to stamp some swirls in the corners and the edges were sponged with Distress Ink.

I made a frame by using one Nestabilities Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large die.
The sentiment were stamped with Reprint stamps in black, and then clear heat embossed.

I used papers the Picnic collection from Bildmålarna, Butterflies and White Tulip.
The edges was first slightly painted with white acrylic paint for a soft touch, then stitched on to white and green CS.

I added one tiny metal charm, lace, ribbon, rhinestones, small lovely green flowers from Pateloo, and a swirl cut with one Spellbinders Floral Fluorishes die.
I think that´s about all. Thank´s so much for stopping by today!

Be Yourself No One Can Tell You You´re Doing It Wrong

fredag 25 maj 2012

Good afternoon everyone!
Here I have a card with a beautiful picture I found at Magic Moonlight and I printed it out, in duplicate, so I could cut it up and mount one above the other for a 3-D effect.

For the flower I used a few different die cuts on fabric and glued them together.
In the middle I placed a few beads and some Platinum Stickles. You see a pair of gold glittering pins just above the flower.

I hope you can see the 3 D effect better here.
I twisted together a metal wire so it will look as if it's a painting hanging on the wall.

For the background I used papers from Pinkpaislee Butterfly Garden and Prima Nature Garden.
Some other embellishments were found in my stash.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs, Birgit

Be Brave...

onsdag 23 maj 2012

Hello and happy wednesday!!
You do not know how long I've struggled with this card, for several days, and still I am not happy with it.

First I stamped and painted the shoe with distress markers, and made a card.
But I did not think it was good, so I cut out the shoe and started again from scratch.

This time I covered the shoe with Glossy Accents for a coated look, and the wings got a lot of glitter, too.
I wanted the card would have a combined feeling of punk and 1920's. A little tough and cheeky, yet have a simple elegance.

I used stamps from Creative Expressions Steampunk Shoes.
The background paper I made by using Distress Inks, masks and some stamps.
Accessories: wrinkled ribbon, lace, brad, pearl swirl, flowers, metal buckle, tulle.
That´s all from me today.
Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

So Loved From The First Moment

måndag 21 maj 2012

Hello, and welcome back friends!
I hope you all had a great weekend. Here in Sweden it has been extra-long with Holidays, and all our children have been visiting, so it has not been so much time for crafting.
But my daughter wanted a card for a little girl who was born about a month ago, and when I did this to welcome little Molly.

I used one old Penny Black stamp, colored it with Copics and then I added Glossy Accents on the hearts.

After I cut and embossed the image, I stitched it on a Spellbinders Beaded Ovals die cut.

I took a small envelope and embossed it with Diamond & Stars Impressabilities, then I sponged it with Distress Vintage Photo Ink.
I made the sentiment by stamping velcome direct on the envelope and cut out the letters to the name from one Pion design paper and glued it on black CS.

A couple of cute kittens from a Pion Design paper were painted with Picket Feance Crackle Paint on the edges, and then I adhered it together with the envelope to a Pinkpaislee Sweetness paper.

A wrinkled pink ribbon and a simple white cotton band gave a comfortable soft feel to the card I thought.
A button was tied over the bow with embroidery thread. The card was finished of with Petaloo flowers , some rhinestones and pieces from one Memorybox die cut.
Thank you for reading this far, and thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

How About A Kiss?

lördag 19 maj 2012

Happy Saturday everyone!
I hope you are out there enjoying the spring weather, but also that you find time for a little scrap as well.
Today's card is a cute birthday card in vintage style.

I love those Inkido vintage images, I find them very useful.
The papers I used are from the new 6x6 spring collection.

I have several friends and family members that are to be celebrated soon, so I need to have some cards ready.

Here are some close-ups of the decorations.
I have made "extra" flower petals of a pink flock ribbon.

The inside, I made quite simple with space to write a message.

Thanks for stopping by, I wish you a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

Summer

onsdag 16 maj 2012

Hi there! I know it takes a while before the summer is here:)
But for a while ago I surfed around on the web, and ended up on a newspaper page with an ice cream template that you could print out, and I did of course. Now I can not find back there, but I've tried to make a card that I think is similar to what I saw.

This is not at all the things I usually do, but it's still fun to do different styles and there's almost always someone who likes it.

You have to admit you get a little hungry for summer, anyway.
I used old papers that been left over, so I don´t think you can by them any longer.

That's about all from me today.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

Medals And Monarchs

måndag 14 maj 2012

Hello blogging friends!
Here I have another project to the Stampalot Challenge Medals and Monarchs. This time it's a card so I hope it's OK with one more contribution, I really felt that this was a very fun challenge!

I found some freebies at Freubel with monarchs that I decided to use for this card.
But I started with the top and the inside of the card, by stamping with several stamps and then clear heat embossed the stamped. After that I sponged over it, and all the edges with distress ink.

I wrote the sentiment ( King, for one day) by hand on a banner from one Pion design paper.
Of course he must have his horse, and I think it deserves a place on a medal.

The medal I made of a strip of paper that I first punched and colored with distress ink, then I accordion folded it. The horse were found in my stash.

Stamps that I used are from Crafty Individuals, Crafty Secrets, You Do, Inkadinkado and Norsk Stempelblad.
I don´t think I need to tell you more about this card, hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

Fake It Till You Make It

lördag 12 maj 2012

Morning all, just stopping by to share a card!

I started off my card by using another stamp from Norsk Stempelblad and colored it with Distress Markers.

I tried to use up some paper and other embellishments being left over.

The sentiment are made of some silver metal plates that I have had for a time, but not known what to do with. Now I covered them with Snow Cap Alchol Ink and let them dry.
Then I took some vellum punched letters and painted them black with a Copic Marker.
I put the letters on the plates with red brads and a bit of glue.

This was a fun creation to do, but I still have to get myself a better watercolor paper:)
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a beautiful day!
Hugs, Birgit

Altered Cookie Jar

torsdag 10 maj 2012

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!
Today I show one altered jar, and in it there have been those oblong chocolate filled biscuits rolls that you usualy have to ice cream. Unfortunately I forgot completely to photograph it before I started working on it.

I wanted to try my new Distress Markers and the new stamps from Norsk Stempelblad, so I stamped a crown on water colour paper and started color it.
I thought it was a bit difficult to get it really well and after I painted and cut it out, I clear embossed it, and then faded the colors a bit.
The chic girl were found at Free Vintage Digital Stamps and I printed the image directly on one Melissa Frances paper.

For the top I made an own flower of a strip of paper, tape, a border punch, distress ink, lace and a pearl in the middle.
The sentiment from Create with TLC were colored and then covered with Glossy Accents and Stickles.

I really like that black and white ribbon I bought the other day in my lokal store.
That's all from me today, hope you liked it.
Hugs, Birgit
